Big lottery jackpots have the power to change lives of many people and in case of the top prize that was offered in the Lotto Max draw on Friday the 13th that number amounts to 46. Magnificent windfall worth $10.000.000 was collected by a syndicate that was formed by members of 14 families living on the same street in the community of Garson, just outside of Sudbury.
The fortunate neighbours correctly guessed the numbers 8, 14, 16, 17, 18, 34 and 41 drawn on October 13th. Most of the winners didn’t share their last names with the public, but it was confirmed that the winning ticket was checked by the couple Sherry and Mike, who said they both went pale and felt like they’re going to puke after checking the numbers. Since all the families live close by to each other, it didn’t take long for the news to spread around.
“I was running down the street and just flailing and screaming my lungs off,” recalled Sherry.
The winners formed this fortunate syndicate two years ago – it consists of 26 adults, and their 20 children. Melissa, one of the winners, said that’s exactly what makes their victory so special – they’re a bunch of young families, who’ll be able to put some money aside for their future. Another winner Amy said it’s nice they won’t have to live paycheque to paycheque anymore, and added that sharing the prize with her good friends is one of the most enjoyable parts of the whole experience.
“The fact we get to do it all together, is just unbelievable. That we get to share this experience with our best friends, it’s just too much. Nobody could even ask or dream of what is happening to us today,” said Amy.
