When a family consists of six children and fourteen grandchildren, most average houses don’t have enough room to accommodate them all. That’s the problem Terence and Randel Weatherill have been facing for a long time, but not anymore! After snatching a life-changing $1.750.000 jackpot, they can finally afford buying a new home that’s big enough for their loved ones.
The Weatherills were among four ticket holders who matched the six main winning numbers 6, 9, 16, 19, 21 and 28 in the Lotto 6/49 draw on December 6th. Their golden ticket was purchased at the 7-Eleven in Powell River, and it took them a while to convince themselves it was actually worth $1.750.000.
“We were excited when we discovered that we won but we were also in disbelief. We were in such disbelief that we pretty much sat there all day just staring at each other,” recalled Randel Weatherill after collecting their cash reward.
This impressive jackpot will allow the lucky couple to turn one of their life-long dreams into reality – moving to a bigger home that can accommodate their whole family. This may seem as an easy task since they now have $1.750.000 at their disposal, but finding a house that has enough room for over twenty people (including six of their kids and fourteen grandkids) will take some time. The couple will also share some of the money with them and celebrate “a very special” holiday season.
The Weatherills weren’t the only lotto enthusiasts who had the best Christmas ever this year thanks to the Lotto 6/49 draw on December 6th. Two of the $1.750.000 shares have been collected by a retired couple from New Glasgow, and one humble resident of Nova Scotia, who came forward shortly after the draw took place.
