It’s been almost six months since one resident of Cheshire West and Chester area purchased a £1.000.000 Euromillions winning ticket, but lottery officials are yet to discover the identity of this person. Time is running out, and if the winner doesn’t come forward in the next few days, their fortune will be lost forever.
The mysterious ticket holder purchased the Euromillions ticket worth £1.000.000 for the draw that took place all the way back on May 16th. It contained the winning code XKCV83963 for the UK Millionaire Maker raffle that night. According to the rules in the UK, lottery winners have up to 180 days from the draw date to collect their windfalls, meaning that the ticket holder from Cheshire West and Chester must claim their prize money until November 12th.
Andy Carter, senior winners’ advisor at the National Lottery, encouraged the players to check their old Euromillions tickets, and pay close attention to their Millionaire Maker codes, because they often go overlooked. He also urged them to try going through their pockets and wallets, since those are usually the places where missing lottery tickets end up being found.
“We’re desperate to find this mystery ticket-holder and unite them with their winnings. We have the champagne on ice and our fingers crossed that the lucky winner comes forward to claim their win. This amazing prize could really make a huge difference to somebody’s life,” said Mr. Carter.
If no one comes forward with the £1.000.000 winning ticket until the end of the week, this amazing amount of money won’t go to waste – it will be added to the National Lottery’s Good Causes Fund.
