Drama enthusiast from Botley scoops £1.000.000 Euromillions prize

Pam Aird had an absolute passion for theatre and drama her whole life and now she’ll finally be able to help out theatre groups that she holds close to her heart. The lucky woman from Botley became £1.000.000 richer thanks to Euromillions and plans to donate some of that money to her local community. You could do the same after the next Powerball draw – play now to snatch $258.000.000!

Ms. Aird has been buying Euromillions tickets for every draw since the game’s inception in 2004 and joked she probably spent as much money as she ended up winning. Her patience finally paid off on October 25th when she matched a Millionaire Maker code and ended up scooping £1.000.000.

“Imagine my surprise when I saw that it matched entirely – I just couldn’t believe it, I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me. All night I was tossing and turning – I couldn’t stop thinking about all the things I’d always wanted to do for friends and the local community and now could do,” said the lucky woman.

Ms. Aird, who has been a drama enthusiast for decades, is currently researching how much money the local theatres will need for the improvements, because she plans to help out as much as she can. She’s also hoping to pay off her bills and hopefully move back to Abingdon with her partner Alick Alder.

“Putting things right and helping the local arts in Oxfordshire are priorities but I’d be lying if I didn’t say the win will also make a difference to how Alick and I enjoy life. Already I have put wheels in motion to pay off debts that I have carried around for too many years, and finally make a clean start. It was a magical experience on all counts,” said Ms. Aird.
