Filipino worker in Canada collects a $32.700.000 windfall

Two years ago, Patrick Estacio moved from the Philippines to Canada hoping for a better future, and it proved to be the right choice. He can spend the rest of his life without ever worrying about the money thanks to an incredible $32.700.000 jackpot. Follow in his footsteps with a little bit of help from Powerball – a staggering $359.000.000 windfall is up for grabs right now!

The fortunate man, who currently lives in Montreal, matched the winning numbers 6, 9, 30, 37, 43 and 49 in the Lotto 6/49 draw on November 9th, with a ticket he purchased from Tabagie Métro Du Collège in Saint-Laurent. After collecting the $32.700.000 cheque, Estacio said he never actually expected to hit the jackpot and even when it happened he thought the prize had a few zero less to it. When the shop assistant re-checked the ticket for him, the 41-year old winner realized he’s about to have more money than he ever hoped for.

“By buying a lottery ticket, I do not expect to win the jackpot. When I learned that I had won $32.700.000, I burst into tears of joy,” explained Estacio.

He migrated to Montreal from the Philippines just two years ago, and spent that time living in a rented room, working two jobs in order to support himself.

“I still haven’t taken it all in, but my life will certainly never be the same. I want to stay humble, simple, but I am going to take advantage of my good luck. I’ll probably buy a house or a condo. For the rest, we’ll see. I don’t know. I’m going to let the dust settle,” said the winner.
