Powerball grand prize worth $420.000.000 goes to Tennessee

We’ve spent over two months watching Powerball roll over and wondered how large the jackpot’s going to get this time around, and we’ve finally got an answer last night. A life-changing $420.000.000 windfall was won by one lucky punter from Tennessee and the jackpot has been reset to $40.000.000.

The winning numbers that enabled this amazing victory on November 26th were 17, 19, 21, 37 and 44 plus the Power Ball 16. The jackpot soared from $403.000.000 to a reported $420.900.000 on Saturday night due to a spate of late ticket-buying. This magnificent windfall was collected by one Tennessee resident, but Saturday proved to be a fruitful night for around 1.840.000 players who managed to scoop prizes of smaller value. The luckiest of the bunch was a North Carolina resident who became $2.000.000 richer thanks to adding the Power Play option to their Match 5 winning ticket. Two players from Minnesota and Pennsylvania, who also matched the five main numbers but hadn’t used the Power Play, ended up scooping $1.000.000 each. The sum of all non-jackpot prizes won that night amounts to over $17.000.000.

This is the sixth time in Powerball history that the jackpot went to Tennessee. The largest one was won by Lisa and John Robinson who shared the record-breaking $1.580.000.000 pay-out with another two ticket holders back on January 13th.

If you haven’t had any luck with Powerball yet, don’t despair. Other lottery games are also offering impressive prizes, including SuperEnaLotto – play now and you could end up with €54.200.000 in your bank account.
