Ken Wedgeworth had seen many tragic and horrifying things while serving in the British Army for 25 years, but brighter days are ahead of him. The retired army major from Derbyshire just discovered he had a winning Euromillions ticket worth £1.000.000 in his possession and plans to do many amazing things with it – and so could you! Mr. Wedgeworth purchased his winning ticket on November 22nd while he was buying bread and milk, and hasn’t stopped shaking ever since. The 56-year-old man checked the numbers on his iPad the following day and thought he misread the numbers and letters in his raffle code He has served in the British Army for more than two decades, and decided to finally retire after reaching the rank of sergeant-major. Witnessing the pain and suffering people go through all around the world inspired him to donate a portion of his £1.000.000 prize to good causes.

“During my Army career I saw a lot of the third world and the problems people face there. One thing was the number of people with cataracts – people losing their sight day by day and going blind. I’d like to give a bit towards a charity that helps that,” explained the man.

His priority is to buy a new home with only one floor, because he’ll be able to move around more easily. He also plans to share some of his winnings with his sister and her husband and go on a journey of his dreams.

“It’s a life-changing amount of money. Something I really want to do is go on a cruise around the Arctic Circle, Denmark, Norway and the Baltic states, so I will do that. I want to make sure my family and friends are financially secure too,” said Wedgeworth.
