Powerball jackpot still on the rise, $266.000.000 up for grabs

Lottery players around the world spent this whole month trying to earn the title of the newest Powerball millionaire, but it escaped their grasp week after week. Wednesday night’s drawing was no different – jackpot rolled over again, boosting to $266.000.000. If no one scoops this incredible prize on Saturday, it will be the first time since 2008 that Powerball hasn’t produced a jackpot winner in February.

The winning numbers drawn on February 24th were 21, 31, 64, 65 and 67 plus the Power Ball 5. Even though no one matched the entire line, one lucky punter from North Carolina netted $1.000.000 after correctly guessing the five main numbers. The drawing produced around 930.000 winners who collected almost $7.700.000 total in non-jackpot prizes.

February used to be one of the luckiest months for Powerball players – it offered the highest jackpot of the year in both 2014 and 2015. Back on February 11th 2015, a gigantic $564.000.000 prize was shared by three winners, while a $425.000.000 jackpot won by B. Raymond Buxton on February 19th 2014 remains the second highest lottery prize ever won by a single ticket holder.

Mega Millions also rolled over again this Tuesday when players failed to match the winning numbers 16, 32, 39, 53 and 57 with the Mega Ball 10. Someone could snatch an amazing $125.000.000 jackpot tonight – almost the same amount that Tammy Pratt of South Fallsburg won this time last year.
