Seven colleagues from Gloucester share £285.000 Euromillions prize

Many people believe that the number seven is the luckiest one, and in case of the HST Syndicate it really was. After playing lottery together for seven years, seven colleagues from Gloucester snatched an astonishing £285.000 Euromillions prize. The jackpot is still up for grabs – play now to become €57.000.000 richer!

Several numbers drawn on March 18th were multiples of seven – the winning combination was 14, 19, 21, 24 and 49 with Lucky Stars 5 and 11. Syndicate leader Stuart Fawson was the one who checked the winning numbers on Saturday morning and realized they missed the jackpot by only one Lucky Star.

“The first thing that went through my head was that I had to tell everyone. I didn’t have anyone’s phone numbers so I had to go to one of my colleague’s houses to ask him to contact everyone. After that, my phone didn’t stop ringing,” recalled Mr. Fawson.

The list of lucky winners also includes Phil Tuck, Jason Matthews, Michelle Hanman, Lynn and Dave Starkey and Kay Pegler, who couldn’t believe their luck when Fawson told them they’re about to receive £40.000 each.

“When Stuart rang, he was very quiet and my first thought was that it was going to be bad news. Then when he told me we’d won the Lottery, I couldn’t believe it. I knew it had to be true though because of his voice,” said Pegler.

When it comes to plans for the future, Dave Starkey and Michelle Hanman will spend some of their winnings on a trip to New Zeeland. Other syndicate members from the Hanman Surface Technology didn’t share any immediate plans, but one thing’s for sure – they’ll continue playing Euromillions, in hope for an even bigger prize.
