Nanaimo resident scoops $21.000.000, the largest Canadian jackpot ever won online

Five years ago Bill Laharty decided to stop buying lottery tickets the old-fashioned way and started doing it on the internet. It proved to be the right choice in the end, since he became the winner of an amazing $21.000.000 cash reward, the largest lottery jackpot ever won online in Canada. Playing online could pay off for you too – SuperEnaLotto can make you €127.400.000 richer!

The 52-year-old man matched the winning line 3, 4, 15, 17, 38 and 47 in the Lotto 6/49 draw on August 13th and was surprised to see a lot of zeros after checking his numbers online. He spent the last 20 years digging holes and building anchors for utility poles, but after the win he doesn’t intend to do it anymore.

“It not only changes my life, it changes my family’s life, my friend’s life. It’s a lot of money. It’s more money then I’m ever going to need,” explained the Nanaimo resident, who’s been playing the lottery for two decades in a traditional way, before he started buying tickets online.

Even though he is not married and doesn’t have any children, Mr. Laharty has a lot of people in his life who will get to enjoy his new-found fortune. He will use some of the money to help out his four brothers and sisters and 14 nieces and nephews, and his friends as well. He already bought a couple of BMWs – one for himself and another for his best friend.

“My first feeling was disbelief. Is this really happening? I expect this will really change my life. I’ll travel the world and help out my family and friends. It’s awesome,” said Laharty, who also plans to buy a new condo, a bigger boat, and visit a few exotic places like the Philippines or Bora Bora.
