After a long series of rollovers that had millions of people on their feet, Euromillions finally managed to produce a jackpot winner. One Portuguese player matched all the winning numbers on Tuesday night to win an impressive prize worth €79.149.373.
Winning Euromillions line drawn on April 9th consisted of the main numbers 18, 21, 29, 38 and 41, with the Lucky Stars 1 and 11. They were all matched by a single player from Portugal, but several participants from all around Europe came really close to hitting the jackpot.
Five players missed the top prize by one of the Lucky Stars, picking up €184.421 each. The latest Euromillions draw also produced a total of six Match 5 winners, who walked away with €35.795 each.
Tuesday night’s victory is pretty impressive, since it’s the first time that a player living outside of the UK and Ireland managed to score a jackpot this year. The largest prize of 2019 was claimed by an Irish family syndicate in February and it was worth €175.475.380.
Winners of this jackpot never revealed their identity, but they agreed to share their plans with lottery officials, and it was obvious they were beaming with excitement.
“This is unbelievable – it will take us some time to get our heads around this win and to organize ourselves. What is so exciting is that we will be able to share this money with children, grandchildren and extended family members. This is a dream come true,” said one of the syndicate members.
Euromillions is one of draw games available on Multilotto, so make sure to check the results and see if you matched any numbers on Tuesday night.
