Winning a $100.000 Powerball prize feels like hitting a reset button

Scooping a major lottery prize usually means you can start things over and change your life for the better, and that’s exactly what Sandra Allison-Chatman intends to do. This Michigan woman recently collected a $100.000 Powerball windfall and she’ll use some of that money to get out of debt and move on in peace. You could do the same after the next Powerball Max draw – a ground-breaking jackpot worth $750.000.000 is up for grabs!

This 58-year-old has been buying Powerball tickets for years, but finally got lucky on April 18th. The winning numbers drawn that night were 9, 10, 12, 17 and 23 with the Power Ball 9 and Allison-Chatman missed the jackpot by one of the main numbers. Instead of winning the usual $50.000 prize, the fortunate woman collected twice that much because she added the Power Play option to her ticket. She purchased it online, and was in for a surprise after finally logging into her account a few days later. Allison-Chatman started screaming when an alert with a bunch of zeros appeared on the screen.

“At that point, I started screaming and couldn’t stop. My husband came over to see what was going on, and when I told him he started laughing and couldn’t stop. We’ve played Powerball for years, you just never think you’re going to be the one who hits a big prize,” recalled the $100.000 winner.

When it comes to their plans for the future, the lucky couple will use the money to take care of their family, go on a trip to Hawaii and clear their debt.

“It’s a relief to win. This is like hitting a reset button. It gets us out of debt and helps us move towards accomplishing our goals,” said Allison-Chatman.
